CMRT was called out late on Monday evening following reports that a walker on day two of the coast to coast had not arrived at their accommodation in Borrowdale despite departing Ennerdale Bridge at 0830 that morning.
Given the conditions, a search was initiated along the various C2C routes, with focus on the confusing ground between Ennerdale and Honister Pass.

Additional resources made their way to the scene, and as dawn broke the casualty was evacuated by stretcher to Honister Slate Mine.
