Icy weather often makes Newlands Pass too dangerous for cars, as was the case for one unfortunate couple who's car was unable to continue and blocking the road. As vehicle recovery and emergency services are unable to reach vehicles under these circumstances, the Team used snow chains on a Team Land Rover to access the location and bring the stuck pair to safety. The road was closed and the vehicle remained in-situ until it was safe enough for the vehicle to be recovered.
